According to the National Enquirer, Joaquin Phoenix was dressed like a homeless person and would not stop muttering to himself as he searched through racks of clothing at Red Balls on Melrose. When he finally found what he’d clearly been lacking in his life up until now – a black velvet cape, a mesh top, and black pants – he dashed into the dressing room where he began screaming out rap songs as he changed into his new clothing.
When he came out of the dressing room in his new, we can only imagine, very flattering outfit, he told the salesgirl he’d be wearing it home. The appropriately freaked-out salesgirl asked Joaquin, "What form of payment will you be using today, sir?" At this point Phoenix banged down a wad of cash and screamed, "Money!"
A source told the National Enquirer, "He mumbled madly while the girl counted out his change and offered him a bag for his own clothes. Joaquin never said a word, rushed out of the store wearing his velvet cape – and dumped his old clothes in the nearest trash can!"
Who knows what the hell to make of this. On one hand Joaquin sounds genuinely insane, but on the other hand, he seems sort of…self-consciously insane. Almost as if he woke up and asked himself, "What’s the most insane thing I can buy today?" and correctly decided that the answer was a velvet cape that he could then run into the street wearing.

Aces. I love those artists who just go by their way as the damn well please. I can relate to them becuase I am one of them. As long as it not goes to far with drugs or violence or whatever those other fucked up celebreties get them selves in to.
